Two cards to share with you today. This weeks CASual fridays challenge (Create a 4 x 9 card and keep it Clean And Simple!) was too good to resist, so I made not one but two cards.

Here is the first card, “you are a sweetheart”

Very clean and straight lines with a hint of scallop and little machine stitching here. The ribbon flowers were fun to make. I adhered them onto the card using glue dots. EAsy peasy. I used these Play date Cafe colors for this card and kept it really simple.

The second card, is a “happy birthday” card. I cut out 1 inch squares from various colors of felt and sewed them onto a patterned paper. For the card, I added some texture in the form of white squares. Rounded the corners and added a border punch to the bottom.

For this card, I used the color inspiration from this  Tuesday Trigger from the  Moxie Fab World,

Quick pregnancy/baby update. Baby is now overdue by 2 days. Am so huge and uncomfortable, cannot wait to have this baby!! Meanwhile, I have all this unplanned free time, so I make cards 🙂

  2. What beautiful cards! I love the cozy feel they both capture, while staying simple. Your ribbon flowers are perfect, too, by the way. I feel for you being overdue…my first two children each came before their due date so I expected the same with my third. He was almost a week past and oh my does each minute feel like an eternity! Try to find some rest during the waiting & good luck!

  3. Smitha, both of your cards are wonderful. I love how your worked the colors from the inspirations for both. I love the way you shifted the borders to the left then right on the first one, and the flowers are lovely. The textures in the second one are lucious!

  4. These are both beautiful I really like the siple border and the ribbon flower on the first one, and that gorgeous lace trim and felt on the second. Such great entries for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge!
