{a monday card…}

Happy Mon­day to you all! I miss the week­end, and its  just mon­day… Its gonna be a long week for sure…

(i still have to make time to fig­ure out why my blog has a black back­ground; my hus­band thinks it looks cool and I should keep it this way itself… I dont like it )

Since I did not feel like sit­ting in front of the com­puter, I made a card instead,

Lots of felt, lace and stitch­ing. I thought it would be quick card, but with all the lay­er­ing it took a bit longer than anticipated…

For the ThePunches Chal­lenge in the Moxie Fab World I used some folded scal­loped cir­cles for the flow­ers (i had a tuto­r­ial about these flow­ers some time back here)

This card started with todays Mojo Mon­day 226 sketch, a beau­ti­ful sketch it is…

 

I also applied a ton of the Stu­dio Cal­ico CHA chal­lenges on this card– lay­er­ing, stitch­ing, and doilies (I cheated a wee bit) which I will be blog­ging about later…

{blog looking black…}

I don’t know why/how my blog came to have a black back­ground as of yes­ter­day… I have spent some­time already tonight inves­ti­gat­ing this and noth­ing seems to be work­ing… I can­not fig­ure out what has changed… {sigh} I think its time for a blog rehaul and redesign :)

So if you are stop­ping by and the blog looks funky wonky and weird, its coz I am break­ing my head over its code (which was a week long ordeal the first time, read more here…)

{someone new to love is here…}

For the Weekly Chal­lenge at Stu­dio Cal­ico, I made another lay­out using paint…

I like the end result of this lay­out. Two days ago I hated it. I actu­ally wanted to cut out parts of it and adhere it onto a fresh lay­out and start over again. In the end, I was spend­ing more and more hours (yes hours!) just star­ing at the lay­out, try­ing to decide if I liked it or not… so I decided to like it, and move on with life. I then lay­ered all these punched papers and that looked good!

I started the lay­out using this SC Sun­day Sketch,

My favorite part of the lay­out has gotta be the title…

 

I used a lot of the new Jenni Bowlin punches (I also added this tag I made last week), and splat­ters of paint. I also painted the base card­stock with streaks of yel­low water­color.. this did kind of wrin­kle the paper, but it will straighten out once it sits in the album for a while…

I have some hid­den jour­nal­ing in here, which is coin­ci­dently the Jan­u­ary recipe chal­lenge at Club CK

I love the jour­nal­ing and the hid­den pocket! And now I have a new lay­out for the baby’s first year album!
