{monday mini tutorial: the butterfly journal}

Here is the tuto­r­ial I promised yes­ter­day, on how I made this lit­tle book…

To begin with, I started with a small com­po­si­tion book that I bought at Tar­get, and some graphic 45 papers…

I trimmed the black pais­ley printed paper to cover the book all around and adhered it with some mod podge. I then trimmed some other pretty pat­terned papers into strips to fit just the front of the book.

I then punched off­set­ted cir­cles from the strips. If you look closely above, you can see that I have marked where I want each circle’s cen­ters to be…

Next, I adhered the strips onto the book with mod podge.

I finally added some cir­cles, hearts, dis­tressed the whole front with some ink and added a butterfly.

And thats it, a tiny lit­tle pretty journal/book is ready to fit into your purse!
