This year is the first time I did Ali Edward’s “A week in the life”. And I have already seen such beautiful takes on it. Check out what my friend Linda made– its jaw droppingly amazing!
For us this month/week has been extremely busy, with many deadlines for me and the hubs travelling.
I was just going to take extra photos this week, and call that done. I had NO intentions of scrapbooking them in any sort of way.
But as I was printing some other photos to scrap on NSD this week, I bumped into a bunch of photos from 2010 and I was spellbound by how young my daughter looked. I remember her being that way, but I really couldn’t remember any of the smaller details. And that’s when it struck me, I needed to document this.
My mantra for this album– keep it simple. It usually takes me ages to chose, process and resize photos, so for this mini book/album I made a quick template to use on every page of my album; no gimmicry, just put the photos in there and print it. No changing the sizes of the photos, no blowing up just one photo.
Each day has the same format of a 5.5 by 6 inch collage of my instagram photos. This template is included in the download.
I selected a bunch of neutral to brownish colored cardstocks, and trimmed them to measure 8.25 by 11 inches. My idea is to slip the completed mini album into a 8.5 by 11 inch sleeve and include it in my 2012 scrapbook.
I then adhered the photos, and added stitching around them.
Printed out my journaling, quotes and day tabs. These are also included in the download. The journaling cards are 3 by 4 inches in size, so you could use it elsewhere if you wanted.
Added teeny tiny bits of patterned papers, transparencies and doo daas.
Stitched the book shut and added washi tape around it. I did have fun with the cover, but that is going to be tomorrows post
Done. A week in the life of 2012 documented.
What I have for this weeks freebie– I like to think of it as a Cake mix– just add your photos, cardstock and journaling. Everything else is in the mix. Add your creativity and it will be like icing on the top
