Fathers Day Craft ideas for Preschoolers

You all know that father’s day is coming around soon right? Here are 3 Fathers Day Craft ideas to help you and those little kids make a gift for daddy!

I love crafting, but I love involving my daughter and crafting something with her even more! The joy on her face when she does something by herself is priceless! So I am starting a new series on my blog: Crafts to make with your kids. Check out How to Make Felt Faces for Kids Quiet Time and How to Make a Visual Toddler Routine Chart

This looks so cute, and it is super easy! And the bottom line was, it wasn’t my gift, it was my little girl’s gift- and she was so proud that she made it herself 🙂

Let your kids color (scribble) to their hearts content onto a piece of cardstock. Add a cute photo of daddy and kid on top- maybe use a heart punch to shape it. Print a sentiment or just write “Happy Fathers day!”

I think the heart shaped photo is super cute here- but if you do not have a heart punch, you can just trim a photo into a square or rectangle and adhere it onto the card.

Handprint Fathers Day Craft

Make a special Father’s Day card to treasure for years to come.

This one is a slightly messy but totally homemade card idea for Father’s day. Pull out some paint, a piece of cardstock and make a quick card. Click here to see the full tutorial I wrote on the Fiskars website.

A handprint card is a great idea for not just dads, but grandparents as well!

If you do not have craft or acrylic paint at home, try using an ink pad or water-based marker. If your kids are not too small, have them write the sentiment of the card in their own handwriting as well. This will make a memorable card for years down the lane.

Special Dad Card:

For this card, my kids tried Sponge Painting, and created a colorful printed card that is uniquely theirs! I love how this turned out.

For the holidays you can extend this idea to make a family of handprint cards or make it into a wall art piece to be treasured.

Sorry I have not been regular with my comments…have been on summer break with my kids and so have taken a crafting break. Shopped my heart out though at Archiver’s and Michaels! 😛 Heard you might be meeting up with Priya…have fun!
    Have a good one!

  2. Found you through Cards magazine and Studio Calico. LOVE the printables you designed for Project Life – thank you 🙂

My daughter is 2.5 and last year and this year she and I make her Father’s Day card together. She loves “doing art projects” and it’s been really fun to share the crafty stuff with her. And my husband actually saves the card she made for him, though he usually doesn’t save that kind of stuff 😉
