So, I have been wanting to buy the new Zing Embossing powders forever, and I finally caved in and bought a whole set of them! I have been having lots of fun playing with them
I made this really really quick card last morning. We have had a few rough nights here with both the girls running fevers. So when I realized I was the only one up in the morning at 8am, I decided I needed some color therapy.
This is a mini card– about 3.5 by 3 inches in size.
I am not a huge stamper, so I am looking for ways to use my embossing powders without stamps per se. I first added my title with some old alphabet stickers directly onto the card.

I then pressed the whole card onto the ink pad, and pressed it really good. I found out it is easier to press the card into the ink pad, rather than press the ink pad into the card. Otherwise you end up inking the waste paper beneath the card a lot, and that is a waste of good ink…
I used three sheets of paper to cover my work surface and to catch the extra embossing powders. I then started at one corner and added a little bit of the Grapefruit color. Shook the excess powder and moved to the next color– Rose. The ink dries slowly, so you have enough time to do a bunch of colors here…
This is how the card looked after all the colors have been added– I used Grapefruit, Rose and Butter on a kraft cardstock here…

Next I carefully removed the alphabet stickers, and used a heat gun to melt the embossing powders… That instant when the dry embossing powders go molten– that is the best part of this card
It also was the moment that the little one chose to wake up. Good timing or what?
Throwing my hat in here for the Make Your Own Background Paper Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I think it looks like a new background don’t you?
What have you guys been using your embossing powders for? Let me know in the comments section and I will reply there!
