Today I am guest blogging at the Fiskateers blog. Well, because I am Fiskateer. And if you are a crafter you will absolutely love being a part of this family! And its free to sign up (go here)

This is the layout I am sharing, made using only My Mind’s eye products (Except for the thickers– if MME made thickers I am pretty sure I would have had them. You see, I hoard collect thickers. I may have a slight problem)
Stephanie Howell has a challenge open right now– to make a layout using only My Mind’s eye products. I have been in a scrapbooking rut lately, and this challenge excited me. The first thing I did though, was to ask her if older products would do?
I have been saving this old MME collection Lost and found 2 that is absolutely gorgeous. So gorgeous in fact, that I am scared to cut into any of those pretty papers. I want to make a special layout with it.
That was the thought at least.
Then I remembered that I have been getting the Studio Calico kits for almost a year now, there must be plenty of new MME products in those! I know I have atleast 4 of those enamel sheets. And so I pulled out all the MME things I had from my latest kits and got working.
I found 3 patterned papers, and loved how they looked together and started my layout. I wanted to use this date/month letterpress plate (plus this die) in my layout but I wanted the date 26 to stand out, so I inked the letterpress plate first with black ink. I then carefully wiped the black ink off of the other dates with a baby wipe. I then reinked those dates using a smaller chalk ink pad in a blue color.
Love the letterpress ease of the Fuse Creativity system!
I also wanted a pop of color on my black patterned paper and for this I simply punched large circles from another patterned paper and scattered them around my layout.Luckily the circles were of the same size. I think its a 3 inch lever punch. I love patterned paper and am always looking for ways to mix and match papers.

My initial thought was to make this a quick layout (a’la Time’s up style) and so I created a pocket of the tag using some long strips of glue lines… (In the end though, I added a bit of hand stitching to this layout)

I then added my photo, title and journaling. I finished off the layout with some embellishments and like I said stitching.

And I must say, I never really make layouts about myself. And I never really have a layout without a splash of pink these days (Hi! I am a mom of two toddler girls). So this was a nice change for me.
Here is to scrapbooking more!
