So… after I actually stuck to and completed my 2012 new years goal of making a quilt, I knew that I wanted to have another crafty goal this year. Having a goal to do something new each month is really fulfilling. I loved being challenged!
For 2013, my goal is to explore more into Mixed Medias. Now this isn’t a tough one for me. I already paint and sew on my layouts. I have been doing 3D paintings and sculptures since I was a teenager.
But these days, I rarely go out of my comfort zone. I have had these big tubes of acrylic paint for ages sitting in a box for ages now. My husband gave them to me as a birthday present I think 3 years ago now. And then there ist this tub of gesso. This molding paste bottle. I keep buying stuff that I want to use, but in the end I always end up doing the same thing over and over again.
I think its time to stop shopping and starte crafting!
So lets see what I made for January shall we?

Its a set of three simple bookmarks. This one is a simple project. I didnt want it to be too overwhelming. If you are a beginner hopefully this will whet your appetite for more
You can read more about how these came together , with step by step photograph instructions here at the Fiskars website.
I can’t believe that January is almost over! Everywhere you see there is talk of Valentines day now…
Did any of you make any crafting resolutions this year? Do share!

/ January 30, 2013Love your bookmarks and I love your commitment to be more crafty in 2013. I have decided to make 24 projects in 2013 — I’m shooting for 2 new projects per month. Anything goes. This month I’ve handmade invitations for my son’s birthday party (I even made the stamp I used for the outside) & a felt name banner. And with the leftover felt I made a bonus birthday t-shirt! It feels so good to be crafty & creative. It fuels a creative fire and I can’t stop! I can’t wait to see what else you make this year! Fun stuff.

/ February 2, 2013I have the same problem — I see a new product and have to have it. When I get it home it gets put on a shelf and I may never get back to it. I’ve just bought Gelatos and Pan Pastels. So far I’ve not used either. Going along with your monthly goal might spur me into using these products. Good luck with your goal. I’ll be watching.
