7 Beautiful Scrapbook Album ideas for you to try!

I’m sharing easy ideas to make the process of putting together Scrapbook albums simple and stress free. Let’s document our favorite memories today!

Traveler’s Notebook Scrapbook

Watch me flip through this album- https://youtu.be/CpX-xEKbMTU

To preserve our recent summer trip experience I chose to create a fun Traveler’s notebook scrapbook that is the perfect size for my kids to look through. These notebooks are very popular these days and you will definitely enjoy the process of filling them up with golden memories.

Pocket Scrapbooking Album:

A Pocket Scrapbook Album can come in a few sizes- my favorite one is this 10-1/2 by 9-1/4 inches sized one that comes with a soft leather cover.

The album is sturdy and very well made, so I feel comfortable letting my girls (who are 1 and 3 yrs old) hold it. The album isn’t huge, it’s small and compact instead. You can sit and read it in 7 minutes 🙂

The inside pages have pockets sized 3 by 4 inches and 4 by 6 inches giving it the name Pocket Scrapbooking. You can easily print photos and purchase filler cards of these sizes. Then simply tell your story and fill the pages.

Scrapbook albums 12×12 inch

The 12 by 12 inch size is where I started Scrapbooking and till date my favorite size! These 12 by 12 inch albums tend to become bulky and heavy, but the large sized photos are a joy to flip size!

I wanted to create a whole winter scene, with lots of depth, textures and white color. It took me time to make this- three separate 30 minute instances, but when it was done, I loved it. It made me smile and I enjoyed the creating process.

Disney Scrapbook Album

Add cards with Disney characters and have your kids and family members contribute into this Disney Scrapbook too! Ask your kids to add a line or in my case a drawing about how they felt the experience was. I am sure they will have something to say, and it will be fun to read years later.

A5 Scrapbook ALBUM:

An A5 size Scrapbook page is much smaller and gives a new take on how to place and decorate your photos. From one 8.5 by 11 inch cardstock you can create two A5 scrapbook layouts!

I fell in love with this little album/binder– and it is a new size: 5.5 by 8.5 inches. I have never worked in this size before!

Creative Mini Album

I printed my photos at home and used Canon Matte photo paper and used
Chipboard sheets like these pre-punched and a ring for binding. You can adhere patterned paper onto chipboard pages. Apply gesso to some, adhere letters onto some and embellish. Add pops of color, texture and unexpected found treasures.

Scrapbook display Canvas:

Elevate your photos from the album onto this scrapbook wall art in a few easy steps! Choose a canvas with a deep edge to create a wow factor!

To adhere the Scrapbook page onto the canvas: Apply an even layer of Mod Podge onto the canvas and press down your scrapbook layout onto it. Let it dry thoroughly.

TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL SCRAPBOOK ALBUMS:

Try and get your Scrapbook Album done while the memories are still fresh. The sooner you put things on paper the more you are likely to remember. As mothers we tend focus on getting it all done and not missing a detail. But in the long run, it is more important that we create a tangible memory of a fun vacation that gives a great overview of the experience.

  • I like to favorite (or star/heart) photos I love and want to print during our vacation itself! Every night, while I am going through the photos and choosing some to share on social media I favorite ones that I really love and know that I want to add in my album. This saves a great amount of time later
  • Try to get those photos off your phone and onto paper as soon as you can. I like using a combination of Dropbox, Amazon Prime or my computer to sync both my husband’s and my phone.
  • Social media is also a great place to go to when you are in need of some journaling. Often your Facebook status or Instagram post will tell you details of your trip and how you felt that day
  • Write down your journaling while you are on the flight back home. Type it onto the Notes in your phone when you have some free time during the day
  • I like to use a premade kit to speed up the memory keeping process and would highly recommend that you do so too. There are SO many great paper kits available these days. Kits are a great way to get trendy items that are all unique and well co ordinated together.
  • Add interactive elements: These elements bring a great fun element to your book. I really wanted to preserve this map that we carried with us everywhere for the 4 days that we were at Grand Canyon! So I just folded it and added it to the book and I love how you can open it up to see the entire map.

SCRAPBOOK ALBUM STORAGE:

While working on my Scrapbook Albums, I put together all of my supplies into this creative options box. This is a nice sturdy box and the lid closes shut with a snap. Which means little toddlers cannot open them if they want to!

SCRAPBOOK ALBUM SUPPLIES:

Putting together your Scrapbook albums can be easy and stress free if you keep a few tips in mind. Focus on those moments you want to document and create something that will last for generations to come!
