I have a couple of layouts in the new September/October 2013 issue of Creating Keepsakes,
And this one is my absolute favorite one in there!
The day I created this, I had just gotten the Jenni Bowlin Quilt Star punch and I badly wanted to craft. Hubby was away, he had been traveling a lot and it was just me and the girls. It was the month of April and yet it was snowing relentlessly. My craft room was a mess, there was no time to clean it. It was so dirty I couldn’t even walk in there. In general I was running low on patience.
I had my new Studio Calico kit (anybody remember the infamous Lost Boys and Wendy?) sitting unopened on the kitchen counter for almost a week. So I decided to craft on the dining table during the little ones’ nap time.
Surprisingly, it went really well! The older one scrapbooked along with me and chatted a lot. I shared everything with her- when I punched a quilt star, I punched an extra one and gave it to her to craft with. When I was putting the title down, she asked me for some letters. I gave her the x, j and z and thought to myself ” when was the last time I finished an entire sheet of thickers?”
All in all, this two page layout came together in an hour and it brightened my day
Even today, almost 5 months later, it makes me smile.
I’m going to file this under “The joys of scrapbooking”

Here is a sneak peek at another layout I have in the magazine- I simply adore this letter pressed maple leaf (I used the FUSE for this one)
