It has been a while since I have made and shared digital scrapbook pages here on my blog.

So, why not share 4 layouts all at once today?

Pixels and Company is having a digital scrapbooking contest #cropped2014. Cropped is a competition based on the famous Food network TV show Chopped (which we watch all the time in our house)

Here are the layouts I have made so far for the competition. I love that I am scrapbooking so much again.

For round 1: SK Pumpkins : 10 ingredients challenge (with these mystery ingredients) : The only trick I used here was to create a shadow with the photo by duplicating the photo layer and masking part of it with a drop shadow.

SK

For Round 2: SK Smile: Typography/Word art challenge (with these mystery ingredients): I loved this photo of the girls reading together, but it was completly out of focus. So I used it as the background instead.
SKsmile

For Round 3: SK Princess, a two pager: Photography/What you see challenge (with these mystery ingredients) : The story behind this layout- I am not a seamstress but I wanted to sew this princess dress for my daughter. The dress wasnt perfect and all I could see were the imperfections. But my daughter loved the dress and her smile was SO wide when she wore it. So, I stopped seeing the imperfections and saw just how happy I had made her. Truly, this whole world looks brand new when viewed together with a child.

SKhappyPrincess

For round 4: SK Sisters : Journaling Challenge (with these 4 mystery basket ingredients): This photo was so beautiful, it begged to be enlarged. That left no space for me to add the journaling. So, I created a zig zag.

SKSistersNow I need to figure out what to make for Round 5. The mystery basket ingredients for this round are really unique. This one is a tough challenge. Wish me luck! 🙂

Hello October!

With Cropped 2014 on my mind, I wanted to share a digital layout with all of you today. This photo is almost 2 years old and I am still scrambling to get those years scrapped, printed and put into an album. The days are looooong but the years sure fly by!

To go along with this layout, I have a co ordinating free printable today- “Harvest”SKHarvest_preview

And then, there is the other free printable, fall themed Ampersand. I might have a winter holiday themed one just like this coming soon. The preview doesnt show it, but there are 3 by4 cards and 4 by 6 inch cards inside the folder. Download them and use it in your Project life! Or print and frame it to decorate your mantle.

{Project Life 2014 + Free Printables!}

Social Sharing ButtonsPin on PinterestTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+Share on Facebook

It’s been ages since I have had some free project life printables hasn’t it?

What can I say? Things have been really really busy. Now that the new year is here, I am trying to catch up with my 2013 project life while prepping for a new 2014 project life album at the same time.

Hence these new printables…

I love designing and doodling. I think color and craft are my escapes. Love the feeling of happiness they bring 🙂

These monthly cards were really fun for me to make. And while I love giving them as free downloads on my blog, it takes me time to process the files, make the pdfs and upload and maintain them.

So, I will be putting up a few files like these for sale in my Etsy shop as well.

Don’t worry, the files on my blog are free for you to download and use.

But if you like these and want them in the 4 by 6 inch size instead, feel free to go and get them at my Etsy store. I am pricing them really really cheap- just $1.50 for 12 cards. See more here 🙂

In 2013, I filled about 60% of my PL album. I would print photos regularly, put away journaling on cards or other stuff I collected for my albums. What I was bad at was keeping everything PL accessible. This year, I want to make a dedicated area for PL that is always clean!! We’ll see how that goes….

Working on my 2014 title page as I type up this blog post- hopefully I will get it done today.

Thanks for stopping by today!

{Digi Layout: a teenie bit of teal}

Social Sharing ButtonsPin on PinterestTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+Share on Facebook

I wanted to share a couple of layouts I have made recently- using Chrissy W’s templates.

I love working with templates. I love tweaking them and adding something me into them…

Four… This layout is so soft and feminine it makes me smile 🙂

All the papers are from the Maggie Collection by Lori Whitlock.

And the template I used is a FREE one. Head here to download

SKfour

The second layout uses one of her free titles- which I simply love!

chrissyw_titleit_novSKcamping

This last layout uses one of her new minimalistic templates– simple and clean

Evidently, I have a thing for teal 😉

{vintage blue}

Social Sharing ButtonsPin on PinterestTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+Share on Facebook

I have a new Glitz layout to share– I simply love that dark blue paper here!!

SKVintageBlue

I think I have thing for triangles. I really need to make a layout with everything triangle. Soon 🙂

In the meanwhile, I am thinking blog redesign. Its going to be more like an over haul than redesign. I think I have fallen into a blogging rut and I need new challenges to inspire me.

If you any feedback for me, let me know if the comments. Would you like More mixed media, more layouts, more make with kids stuff?

Im off to thinking. And while I am at it I also need to think about ways to make my time more efficient.

ciao!
