{Project Life: It’s Saturday}

Social Sharing ButtonsPin on PinterestTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+Share on Facebook

PLsaturday4

I have a new project life spread to share today! I actually have been doing good and keeping up with every week but I haven’t photographed every layout and blogged about them yet. Last week, I had the project life video I did for the blog hop that was super fun to make! I mean, video editing is super addictive. It might be new obsession now!

But for this weeks spread, I just have photographs to share… Here is how this week looks,

PlsaturdayIt was a pretty simple week here, and I had just received the Elle’s Studio July 2013 kit and it was the best kit I ever bought! The kit really focussed on Project life and it ships for under $3. The bits and pieces are really cute and colorful. But the best part? The best part is that I have almost finished up 70% of the kit already!!!!

PLsaturday1

My most favorite thing from this week were these photos we took at the park. I simply adore the Right Now paper (as in not metal) paper clip . SO cute!

PLSaturday3

Things that I reached for for this spread: The Elle Studio kit and my Canon matte photo paper- 4 by 6 inch size.

Things I did differently this week: I printed photos almost daily. Before bedtime, I would process the days photos, hit print and then go to bed. While this might seem excessive to some, I felt it was something that liberated the process for me. It is really difficult for me to find a 2 hour chunk to work on Project life over the weekend or on Monday and this has been something that works for me. Hopefully I wont run out of printer ink in the middle of the night.

Things I loved on this spread: The blue paper clip, the alphas and the tunnel photos. I also loved that I got journaling written down as and when it happened.

Things that worked for me on this spread: I printed up a collage of the extra photos of the week. I used to spend time and figure out how I could creatively place everything on the layout for my earlier spreads. But now, I just print the photos I like as 4 by 6 inch sizes and fit in the other ones as a collage. Keeping it simple.

I haven’t really had any free printables for while now, but that is because I have been finding and pinning so many awesome ones to my pinterest board!

Project Life: Week 25 + Free Printable

Social Sharing ButtonsPin on PinterestTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+Share on Facebook

This weeks spread is a simple one. A quick one. But it covers everything that happened over the week and most importantly I got it done on time ūüôāPL_week25I worked on this spread all week long, printing one photo each day, whenever I got 5 minutes of spare time. So really all I did yesterday was add the patterned paper fillers and call it done!

PLweek25aOne of my favorite things to do these days is to make an instagram collage. Instead of figuring out how/where to fit all the photos, I simply shrink them down in size and print them all onto a 4 by 6 photo. I like to leave a blank spot for journaling and quickly add a few handwritten lines in.

PLWeek25b

PLweek25cThere is this amazing FREE printable at the Carta Bella Paper blog that you can download here (or repin here).  I used in the instagram collage above

I really don’t know which week this is, I never really kept track of it. But I am so happy that I got some time to play with some photos this week.

Tons of #projectlife catch up is happening! I worked first on this weeks spread- while the memories were still fresh in my mind

(bad photo, sorry…)

I found a couple of really cute Father’s day cards- the kraft saying one by Katie Pertiet¬†(pinned here)¬†and this awesome blue one by¬†The Lovely Dept¬†(pinned here)

PLweeknow4There are a couple of empty pockets in this weeks spread, where I want to insert the Father Day cards we made. Hubby dear has them on display at work, so we will fill these pockets later.¬†The “yellow sun” card is by¬†a little grace and mercy¬†(pinned here)

{Project Life: Week 16}

Social Sharing ButtonsPin on PinterestTweet about this on TwitterShare on Google+Share on Facebook

Welcome to my Project life album. Each week I add a page or two to this album that documents our life.
PLweek17_ww For this week,I used the 4 by 4 square pocket protector from this pack. I had very little time to work on this spread and instead of skipping it altogether, I simply printed just my Instagram photos and wrote down our story.PLweek17
The prayer card is a freebie from last year. I initially wanted to use these 4 by 4 cards, but they seemed too pink, so in the end I chose to use dear lizzy’s Lucky charm instead.
PLweek17w
The winter pie chart is floating all over the internet with source unknown. You can find it here though.

I use a collage making app on my phone called Photo grid which is really awesome.

Things that I reached for for this spread: Instagram photos and my new slick writer.

Things I did dif¬≠fer¬≠ently this week: I didn’t spend time on my photo selection. I usually proof all the photos from my phone, my husband’s phone and the dslr. This way I get the whole story of the week. But, I am lagging behind on my album and have four weeks missing already. I really did not want to miss this week too. I wanted to add something in there. So I made one pager and I had enough (I actually had more photos than I needed!) photos to work with.

Things I loved on this spread:I love the winter pie chart image. That about sums up our life right now. But the spread on whole is kinda busy and not my favorite. But done is better than perfect right?

Things that worked for me on this spread: Dear lizzy’s lucky charm digital elements. I adore that pink ombr√© tag.

I have finally figured out why I am scrambling to keep up with my project life of late. Evidently, I used to work on my album every Monday morning (which I didn’t realize till now) but we started gymnastic classes for the big girl every Monday morning recently. Now I need to carve out some project life time on Sundays ūüôā

I had wanted to include a questionnaire in my ‘this is me ‘ album from the get go, but hadn’t really found any that I had liked so far. Then Ali Edwards blogged this yesterday and I absolutely loved the questions it asked. I got working immediately!

I made a two page layout here and included some Instagram photos.

thisisme1
I used Dear Lizzy’s Lucky Charm digital elements to design this in photoshop and then printed it onto matte photo paper. The font I have used here is called mayonnaise.

thisisme3
This took about 10 minutes to make n print. And I was pretty happy that I got to squeeze in some creative time between dinner and dishes. That’s all I need people. A few minutes of color play to brighten my day ūüôā

thisisme2
I added in my journaling later in the night and put the pages into my album. So far I have got almost four or five pages down in this album (blogged here and here). I had prepped for this album even before class began which helped a lot. The class in itself was completely underwhelming according to me. I haven’t ever done a class before, so I didn’t know what to expect. So far, I am not one bit impressed. The only good thing that came about from this class was that studio calico by mistake sent me the class mini kit twice. So atleast I got something for my money…

Are any of you taking the class as well? What have been your thoughts?

PLweek10

Yup, it’s {princess} this week. How princesses are brave. And how they wear boots too, not just glass slippers.

Since I now have my hands on Amy Tangerine’s Yes, Please, I felt it was about time I cut into her older collection Ready, Set go

#hoardnomore

Here is how Week 10 looks,

PLweek10spread

I also used a couple of my older freebies- The Week, Quotes and Dream. For that funny 2 inch by 12inch strip, I inserted a strip of photos…

I worked on Week 10 all of last week. Everytime I passed by my table, I would add another something to the spread.

But the Week 11 spread came together like this. I printed pics and wrote my journaling- all in one sitting. I chose and printed all my cards from Miss Tiinas freebie. Love her cards!!!

PLweek11

Things that I reached for for this spread: My favorite black pen. I wrote a lot on these spreads.

Things I did differently this week: I used more orange and yellow color.

Things I loved on this spread:¬†I loved the photos this time. I look back at them and smile…

Things that worked for me on this spread: I used a Minnie card in one of the inserts- something I know that the girls will love when they see it!

And before I go, did you guys check out last weeks mid-week free printable? Its all about spring!
