{guest blogging at CK…}

I am popping in early today, as opposed to my usual midnite blogging, because…

today I am guest blogging at the Creating Keepsakes blog!

I talk about using your paper scraps and punches on  your scrapbooking layouts :)

And you might want to head over there and leave a comment, because Fiskars is very generously giving away three of their brand new XXXL Lever Punches to one winner.

And if you are stopping by here from the CKblog and are new to my blog, a BIG HELLO to you :)

I have another layout to share today, using those XXXL punches, the bird one is my favorite (and evidently my daughters favorite too!)

I punched a whole lot of the birds and adhered them on the XXXL sqaures. This layout was another quick layout, becuase I used a coordinated kit of papers, here SC’s boardwalk kit.

Thanks for stopping by today!

{a week of spring: day three: spring is in the air…}

So for today I have another digi layout for spring,

This one is a two pager too, and a big thank you for all the  sweet comments you guys left about my earlier two pagers :) I am a little shorthanded at home right now, but will definitely be getting back to all of you soon!

This page gave me a whole lot of trouble.  I literally sat at my comp for ages, moving things around and at the end was not really interested to finish the layout. It started as a one pager,

but I didn’t really like the title too much– (though I did like the square confetti I have created. I should try that again!)

So I worked onto version 2,

But that was too blah. I finally ended up making it a double page layout. Lots of yellows and greens, and that works well for spring layouts!

{a week of spring: day two: spring blooms…}

April 16, 2012
title_web

Hi everyone! It’s day two of spring projects, and here is a scrapbooking layout titled “spring blooms”

This one is a double page layout, and the photos here were taken last year, when I was pregnant (which seems like a long lost distant memory today!) My favorite photo here has to be the photo of the cherry blossoms! And a near second would be the photo of my belly peeking from behind the tree :)

I used felt and punched flowers here,

This layout actually appeared in a special issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine called Scrapbooking ideas for every season which came out a while ago…

Thanks for stopping by today! Will see you all tomorrow with some more spring :)

{sunny summer days}

Summer seems to be winding down here, the days are slightly cooler and that reminded me that I still need to share this summer layout with you all! It appeared in this July/August 2011 issue of the Creating Keepsakes magazine,

This is a double page layout, titled “sunny summer days”

Baby N has grown so much, she is a little big girl now! In these photos she is about 10–12 months old and had just learnt to walk. My favorite photo of the lot, is the one with the lawn mowers!

This layout is all printed and I have already added it to Baby N’s first year scrapbook. I have one double page layout– yes just ONE– to finish and that would complete her scrapbook! I have started the layout, and selected the photos (that takes the most time for me) and I know where the photos need to go. But I am so sleep deprived, with Baby S getting up atleast 3 or 4 times a night to feed, that my creativity seems to have taken a vacation… I need a good 5 hour block of sleep, then I should be back to normal :)

Hope you are having a great day! Thanks for stopping by my blog!

{just like that}

Time to share some digital goodness today. This is a layout of mine that appeared in this Creating Keepsakes: Scrapbooking tips and tricks: Fabulous Flowers edition,

As seen in Creating Keepsakes’ 2011 Tips & Tricks: Fabulous Flowers.  Copyright Creative Crafts Group.

I have said this many times, that I am not a flower person. Atleast 6 months ago, I wasn’t. I like clean lines and bold colors in my scrapbooking layouts. To soften things I like to add stitching. But couple of months ago, I tried my hand at layering some paper flowers together and I loved the result. And then I bought some felt flowers from Michaels and they have inspired me and made me a flower addict. I like exploring felt flowers so much now that I have a flower tutorial to share with you all next week.

For this digital layout, I used flowers as my embellishments, but I used close ups of the flowers and creatively cropped them as my accents. This was a very simple layout– a quick one too, and I love the orange color here– bright and bold!

I have been feeling this burst of energy of late and today I started a humungous project. I started a new quilt for the baby. I have been feeling enormously guilty that I have not made anything handmade for the second baby. So with two weeks left to my due date, I am starting my quilt. This will be the third quilt I have ever made, and it is a pretty simple design. I bought all my fabrics, have sketched out my pattern (its not a simple block pattern.. it involves a bit of math to cut each piece!) and tonite I ironed all the washed fabrics ( I so dislike ironing– but it had to be done)

Here is a peek at the fabrics I plan to use for this quilt (I don’t think I will be using dark brown fabric though)– wish me luck!!
