Thank you for joining Tiffany Doodles’ first blog hop of 2012! I am so glad you’re here! It’s ALSO the second anniversary of Tiffany Doodles!

You’re going to find lots of inspiration along the way, from several talented ladies. Be sure to leave each of them a comment by Sunday the 15th for your chance to win something of your choice! That’s 19 chances to win! All winners will be announced on the Tiffany Doodles blog Wednesday January 18th.
If you’ve arrived from Mary Johnson you’re in the right place! If this is your first stop, please go back to Jessica’s blog so you don’t miss anything!

And here is my card for the hop…

And this is the Tiffany Doodles image I used for this card…

My card is probably the most simple one you will see in this blog hop :) . But this is me, and nowadays simple clean lines, with no fuss is what I am all about. My house seems to be in an eternal mess, with plastic toys everywhere ( I have two girls under the age of 3 years…), so my craft projects tend to be more simplistic. This card started with a different idea in my head, but I LOVE what I made with it in the end!!!

I do not own a Copic marker. No madam I do not. I eye them everytime I am out at the art supply store, but I have restrained myself. I really have too many scrapbooking supplies at home that I don’t use enough, so I am trying to use what I have more and more. But with no markers, I had still planned to make this card with color pencils and glossy accents, but this clean kinda debossed effect of the flowers worked felt better.

For this card I used the color inspiration from the colourQ challenge #119…

And here is a looksie at how I made this in Adobe Photoshop CS5,

(click on the image to see enlarged version)

That flowering branch doodle is so pretty, it really didn’t need any more adornment. I just drew a rectangle  pink box beneath it and a grey box (slightly larger in size) beneath it. The pink rectangle has a orange stroke around it.  To highlight my sentiment, I colored one flower dark bright pink by using a mask.

Print onto a 8.5 by 11 inch cardstock, trim and form the card. And I was done. As easy as that. This would be great procedure for making cards in bulk. Imagine using one of the heart doodles to make your kids valentines next month!

I often make hybrid cards, so if you have any questions, ask them in the comment section below and I will answer them there…

I hope you’re feeling inspired! Before you hop over to Ruby McGuire remember to leave a comment for your chance to win! I get to choose one winner and that winner will receive the flowering branch image I used above!!

Tiffany is also giving away the entire January release and all you have to do is create a card or project using ANY Tiffany Doodles image, blog about it, and add your name to in linkz tool which can be found on Tiffany’s blog. On January 18th the DT will pick one person to win the entire January release!

If you are new to my blog go ahead and like me on my facebook page here or feel free to grab my RSS feed here… I love hearing from new people so come back sometime!

Thanks for hopping along with us, we look forward to seeing your creations!

I made a card for this weeks Tuesday Trigger,

and this was the trigger at the Moxie Fab World,

From the trigger I was inspired to quilt on my card and use numbers. I think the “1” turned out just about how I had envisioned it :)

I have been thinking a lot of our second baby turning one year old lately. And today’ card just reinforces that thought. She is only 5 months old, but I cannot figure out where and how those 5 months have gone by?! It is like I blinked and time got fast forwarded! Anyway, I have been thinking about her turning one, and starting to walk (she doesn’t even crawl yet! but a mothers mind works fast I guess…) and am already planning her first birthday party in my head. I blame it all on Pinterest. For now, her sister and I agree that there has to be lots and lots of balloons involved :)

Supplies used:
Paper: American crafts, My minds eye
Sentiment: Creating Keepsakes
Cloud punch, border punch: fiskars

{today’s cards…}

The past couple of days have been so hectic and busy, I have had no free time. We have been having so much fun; the pumpkin patch, raking leaves, the apple orchard, the zoo…

So, I stayed up late last night, just so that I could have a little time to be creative… My time.

Two cards to share today,

The first one is titled “Beautiful Autumn”, which is something I am so thankful for right now! Fall has to be the best season ever, it so colorful and offers such  brilliant opportunities for photography! (you can see some of mine here)

This card was inspired by this Tuesday Trigger from the Moxie Fab World,

The second card, is all about nature and flowers and bright colors. And this is my first card with no sentiment. I need to try and make more of these! How convenient to have them on hand…

I was totally inspired by the new Color Challenge@ Embellish, what an awesome color combo!

I also made this card with the new Cas-ual Fridays challenge in mind. Just add color. It was so much fun to pull out my color pencils and color in the stamped image. I added lots of glossy accents here on the flowers…

Now I gotta go and see what my girls are upto. Maybe give them an extra tight hug for being quiet for 15 minutes so that I could blog this :)

But it seems toooooo quiet…

I can smell ‘mischief” in the air.

oh oh.

This whole weekend was busy, but I got a little time to clean and organize my scrap table (again!). The Gemini in me is never happy, and I am constantly moving stuff around (I even rearranged the living room furniture this week…). I now have  2 sets of tiny drawers to hold all my most used scrap supplies. It makes such a difference to have everything near and accessible. Now that everything was neat and organized, I had to go and make a card, you know, to kinda test drive the space :)

I loved the colors of this Tuesday Trigger, and had to play along.  This card was made mainly using punches, and its a super quick one to make, once you figure out what papers and colors to use…

Supplies used:
Cardstock: Bazzil Basics, Wausau
Patterned paper: October Afternoon
Sentiment, border punch, pear punch: Fiskars

The new issue of Scrapstreet magazine is out, it’s the Fall 2011 one! You can check it out here.

They introduce all the new writers in this issue, and there is a cute card of mine featured in that column :)

I also have my first article in it (written under the help and guidance of their amazing team…) titled “Event Sequence”. But more importantly for you all, I have a call for projects for the upcoming January issue! My column is going to be titled “Inspiration way” and you can submit your projects to this call and they might get published!!

Here are the details:

Inspiration way: All things retro!:Draw your inspiration from the attached image below and let your creativity flow! Think out of the box and make a layout of any size or a card or an altered item, any project goes! Please include a line in your submission telling us how this image inspired you.

Deadline is midnight October 30th for all calls.

Please send your work to smikatti@gmail.com

Please send a separate email for each submission you would like to be considered for publication. Please keep the image size around 600 x 600 pixels. Thank you!

I also have this brand new post up on the Scrapstreet blog today. Its all about the upcoming halloween party I plan to plan (hope to plan…)

Planning a halloween party soon? Here is what you can make for it! Actually these cards could be made for any party, and the best part is, they are simple enough to mass produce…

These are all hybrid products made with the new and AMAZING collection by Carina Gardner called “The Raven”

I first designed the cards, tag and box digitally, and printed them onto 8.5 by 11 inch white cardstock sheets. I then trimmed them to size.
Now some photos of each of them separately,
The invite card was simple to make. It was inspired by this card from the CASE study challenge#59. To make the card, simply fold the cardstock to form the card. Add a ribbon and make a bow. Add the jewels beneath the sentiment. Isn’t that raven stunning?

Next the candy box, once I cut out the box form (I made my own template for it here), I scored the fold lines and made the box shape. Added a satin ribbon and bow on top. I then popped up the “creepy candy” using foam adhesive.

A quick tag: here I just inked the image, made a bow and added a line of jewels.

For after the party, I made a thank you card along the same lines. This is a single layer card,  I used a precision knife to make small slits so that I could weave the ribbon through, and tied it up with a small bow.
