Spring Treat Boxes

Decorate pretty treat boxes and bags with simple butterfly motifs. Perfect for spring parties or gift giving.springpillowbox

How to make itIf you are giving treats as a gift, these are pretty packaging options for you. I made these pillow box treat holders using the FUSE and it’s pillow box die. You can use any die you have or even buy pre-made boxes instead. Decoarate each box with a beautiful punched paper and twine bow.

flowerboxspring_pillowboxIf your fingers are itching to use paints (like mine often do), use the punched paper as a stencil instead and lay paint over it. These butterflies are perfect for a spring party!

While you have your butterflies punch out, you can also decorate some brown paper treat bags. These are my favorite of the lot. To decorate these paper bags, I placed a punched butterfly paper strip, pressed my sticky Versamark ink pad directly onto the bags, removed the punched paper (that acted like a stencil here) and then poured embossing powder on the top. Finished it off my heat setting the embossing powder in place. These bags are pretty adorable in real life and the recipient of your gift is bound to wonder how you made these!

Throw a fun kids new year party at noon instead of midnight – all you need are some treats and construction paper.kidsnewyearparty

If your kids are bored during the winter break- have them help you make some easy decorations for New years eve!

Most of the decorations here were made by my daughter with a little assistance from me. Crafting with your child is my favorite way to get party decorations made!cupcaketoppersnumbers

I just have a few images here on the blog today- More detailed instructions and procedure can be found in the article I wrote for Fiskars here.

I used basic kid craft stuff to make a fun colorful party set up- construction paper, glue, glitter, alphabets and ribbon. You will also need some cardboard-  cut some off a box you might have received. The same set of supplies and technique can be used to make party decorations for any party!
