Please note, none of these Crochet along block patterns are mine, I am just crocheting along and I will link to each pattern individually. I am using skeins of Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice Yarn and you can find the exact colors in the supplies listed below

I like blocks that have a flower, or circle in the center and anything off-center or asymmetric just isn’t my style. So with that in mind, I decided to just make the blocks I enjoy, and join them together to make a blanket- over the period of a few years.

Why do a Crochet Along?

  • I love the challenge of a new pattern! It is so much fun to anticipate a new block pattern every other Thursday.
  • The pace is great. You get 2 weeks to complete each 12-inch square. It’s enough time to get it done and by the end of the year, you will have a nice stack of blocks ready to be put together as a blanket.
  • The community is welcoming! I love the Moogly CAL Facebook group and enjoy seeing all the color variations others create.
  • I have learned so many new things here! As a beginner crocheter, I am pulled out of my comfort zone and learn new kinds of stitches with many blocks. It is so much fun to google the stitch and figure it out and then get it right.

  1. Thank you for doing the blocks along with us. I see we have block 2 and block 1 then block 4. Now we have have block 2 followed block 1, we don’t have a block 3. So, do we have a choice of which block we want to do?
    Thank you Annette Thompson
