Watercolor Flower Bookmarks Tutorial
To make your watercolor flower bookmarks, I like to use a heavy mixed media paper and have trimmed it to measure . This will be trimmed into 3 equal parts. Using a pencil, I lightly sketched flower shapes and leaves. I have previously shared Simple Flower Drawing ideas and Leaf Drawing ideas that you can refer to for more inspiration.

Once I had the flower guidelines, I lightly erased them so that you could see them, but only faintly. Just enough to see where I want to paint. I scribbled a few watercolor marker colors onto a blending palette for my painting today.

Start by using just one color and disperse that color all around the design. Keep your colors watery to create a light and airy effect.

Repeat this, changing colors to paint different shaped flowers and leaves.

Mix colors on the palette and create new shades of colors. Use this to add a layer or detail on top of the flowers and leaves we have painted.

And here is my finished painting. Painting watercolor florals is such a great way to welcome spring!

Using a paper trimmer, make equal cuts on the painting to make 3 pieces each 2.5 inches wide.

Your finished watercolor flower bookmarks are ready and should measure each 2.5 by 8 inches in size.
