Learn how to make a pretty doily flower- in 4 quick and easy steps! These are great to use in cardmaking, scrapbooking, or to decorate a gift!
I share many paper craft ideas on my blog, make sure to check them all out!
I have bought (hoarded) quite a few paper doilies and needed a project to use them in a different innovative way.
So, I thought of making some flowers, which can be easily in bulk and stored to be used later.
How to make this doily flower:
First place a XL One inch Glue Dots®, and cut out the inner circle of a doily. Next adhere the doily onto the glue dot, thus creating frills. This will form the bottom layer of our flower.
Step 2: Layer another XL one inch Glue Dots® onto the flower. Cut out another inner circle from another doily, this time making the circle slightly larger than the first one.
Crumple and adhere the second doily onto the flower base
You can add as many layers you wish in this manner to make a dimensional flower.
Step 3, cut out leaf shapes in felt, burlap, and patterned paper. Adhere everything together using Glue Dot lines. Add a felt center to the flower as well.
Finally adhere everything together, add a pearl in the center and you have a pretty flower ready! These flowers would brighten up a simple gift box, a layout or even a card.
I wrote this blog post while participating on the Glue Dots® design team.
