Today I am sharing a very beginner friendly Easy crochet chunky blanket. This makes a small baby blanket that is soft, cuddly and adorable.

This easy crochet chunky blanket is simple to make and uses just two of the basic crochet stitches. You will need to know how to chain and how to do the single crochet stitch and that’s all!
The pattern is a single row repeat, so once you have figured it out, all you need to do is repeat it till the end. Free pattern pdf, photo tutorial and process video can all be found below, so let’s begin!

To make this blanket I used 5 skeins of Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn and a 12mm ergonomic crochet hook. The Fisherman colorway is a nice soft cream color that makes a perfect neutral colored baby blanket. You can use any other Bulky 6 yarn you might have instead.

Begin with a chain of 75.

Work in pattern- of one sc and one chain. Written pattern can be found below.

Here is how big the blanket is after one skein of yarn. At this point, you can do some quick math and figure out how big your blanket will turn out.

Here are a few more photos of my blanket in progress.

Here is the finished blanket, you can grow it longer if you wish, but I used 5 skeins here.
