🧶 What You’ll Need
- Yarn: You will need a bulky 6 yarn. Here I have used the Wool Ease Thick and Quick yarn in colorway Fisherman that was leftover from my Single Crochet Chunky Blanket.
- Hook: You will need to use a much smaller hook than the recommended size, like a H8 crochet hook or smaller. This makes the fabric stiff and firm.

1. Measure your pot’s base — You’ll crochet a flat circle slightly larger than that diameter.
2. When the base is the right size, stop increasing and start building the wall of the pot cover. Work one row in the front loop only and continue to work even rounds to build the side.
3. End with a decorative scalloped edge.
Tips and Notes:
- It is super important to size down on your crochet hook inorder for the pot to have proper structure. If not your pot cover will become floppy.
- I have used just the double crochet stitch for my crochet plant pot cover today, but you can add more texture easily! Try back loop only rounds or Crochet Moss Stitch
- Customizable to fit any pot size. Simply work your base circle to be as large as you need and then build the pot side.
- You can make matching sets in different colors and sizes, that would look so adorable!
