Last year, I got this motivational calendar- it’s really cute and has some great quotes on being positive. You flip the page daily, to reveal a new one each day. But as the year ends, I realized I like the process of writing the quote more than reading it. So I decided that’s exactly what I’m going to do- write down a quote a day.

In fact, just a few months ago I came across some of my old books with quotes all neatly handwritten in them. From when I was 17 years old. I guess some things don’t really change.

One small positive thought can change your whole day

I want to write these positivity in life quotes daily- even if it’s just a scribble on the corner of the page because my day is busy and I don’t have time to make it look pretty. The simple process of writing things down has a great impact on your brain and I love feeling focused with a quote in mind. I just work better while thinking on paper.

How to start a positivity journal:

positive-hand-lettered-quotes
  • Choose where you plan to write down all of your quotes. You don’t need a fancy book or journal. Grab a cheap composition notebook even and just start. But if you are like me, finding the right journal might be as enjoyable as writing in it. I love notebooks and love this one I chose for this journey.
  • Make a habit of it. Creating a routine will have you reaching for the journal automatically each day. I tend to write in the journal either first thing in the morning or just before going to bed.
  • Keep it simple. Make it fancy. Whatever strikes your mood for that day. No pressure.
  • Remember, it does not have to be perfect. Imperfections are welcome and learning to accept them is part of life.

If the thought of 366 quotes seems daunting, start with my previous 52 quotes challenge, I hand-lettered just one quote a week. That pace gave me time to practice some hand lettering, make sure I got all those words from each quote fit neatly on the page and then paint some pretty flowers on each page too. An easy way to add positivity in life quotes into your life. You can also explore more ways to bring positivity into your home, small changes and habits can have great impact on our lives.

Choose whatever pace works for you- a quote a day or a quote a week.
