Three or Four Leaf Clover Craft Tutorial:
Here are the step-by-step instructions to make a shamrock or a four leaf clover craft that is suitable for kids of all ages
Step 1: Cut Your Hearts
Cut out heart shapes from green cardstocks. You can use a paper punch or a die cut machine to speed this up. You can choose to use these green heart stickers instead to simplify this craft further.
Tip: If you don’t have a punch or machine, simply draw a heart template and cut by hand.

Step 2: Arrange the Clover
Arrange three or four hearts so the pointed ends meet in the middle, forming a shamrock or clover shape. Before gluing, play around with the order of colors until it feels balanced. Once you have an arrangement that you like, glue them into place. Press gently so everything lies flat.

Step 3: Add a Stem
Cut a thin strip of green paper and glue it underneath the clover to create a stem. You can curve it slightly for a softer, more playful look. You could also use a marker or crayon to draw the stem instead.

You can choose to layer smaller lighter green colored hearts on top of the darker green hearts to add depth and interest to your finished craft.

This heart shaped four leaf clover craft is one of those projects that is easier to make that it looks. I love how the two shades of green bring it to life and how the hearts add meaning beyond just “luck.”

This activity is simple enough to do in a preschoolers or kindergarteners classroom. To make an even simpler version, you can also have kids use a pencil to draw the 4 heart shapes and stem and then color them in using green colored markers. If you have extra punched heart shapes you can also try this valentine class craft that is fun for kids!
