A handmade winter journal cover is a fun way to personalize your notebook while adding cozy seasonal details like snowflakes. As the weather gets colder, it’s the perfect time to slow down and get creative.

I seriously think that making a winter journal is a great idea if you live in the Midwest. The long winters get to us and it’s nice to jot down thoughts or hand letter quotes in a pretty journal
Supplies you’ll need:
Fabric sheets, glitter paper, alphas, vellum, wood veneers, doilies, and adhesive.

The Amplify Scissors are the perfect choice to cut paper that has texture on them- like glitter paper. I also crumpled some vellum and cut those with the Amplify scissors, these scissors make it very easy to cut slippery vellum too!

I wanted to build a teal-colored cover, so I chose some fabric and vellum to be my textures. The vellum adds a frost-like feel to the cover.
I then glued my papers and vellum onto to cover. I added glitter paper and doilies to add some layers. I then used the Amplify Scissors to trim off the excess overhang. I added a few doilies and they look like snowflakes. You could also follow this how to draw a snowflake step by step and doodle those on the journal.

I added some final touches like- wood veneers and frilled paper and my Winter journal cover idea has come to life! If you like delicate paper look, try out these paper doily crafts for beginners for a similar look.
