What You will need:
My daughter always loves any opportunity to use my craft supplies. For today’s project I pulled out some Fiskars stamps and ink pads and we spent some time stamping and counting. These stamps are retired now, so I’d recommend using this Melissa & Doug Happy Handles Wooden Stamp Set
counting activity for toddlers
I created and printed out these pages (click here to download them for free) and asked my toddler to stamp the appropriate number of times beside each numeral.

This counting activity for toddlers was “learn and fun”- we spoke about how 2 is more than 1 and similarly 3 is more than 1 too.

By the time we hit 12, she was kind of bored of this project but she did want to get everything stamped and done so she persevered.

We worked on this counting activity for toddlers another time that week, and this time she had to punch different shapes and glue the correct number of shapes next to each number. Usage of this punches need to be monitored by an adult.
This was more fun for her, since she knew what to do already. The paper punch added a fun element for her and was something new. Not to mention, that this girl loves to play with paper and glue.

She got one page done before the baby woke up from her short nap.

All in all it was a fun activity for both Mommy and toddler.
This is a very versatile activity. You can easily substitute stamps and punches with stickers, crayons, pom poms or thumbprints.
Have your kid count and adhere stickers, draw in shapes with crayons, adhere pompoms or stamp their fingerprint according the number.

Love this series! This activity seems like a great alternative to those high priced workbooks. Avi would love it if I shared my stamps took, he tried to walk out of Micheals with a stack ‘for his collection’, ha!
I know, sharing my supplies made this so much more fun for her!
Truly a great idea!
