Crochet Hexagon Step by Step tutorial :

For a Crochet Hexagon, we just need to create 2 extra corners compared to a square, so it’s not that difficult at all!

You can make these in one solid colors or change colors as desired.

Step 1: Ch 4. Insert hook into the first chain and close with a slip stitch to form a loop.

Step 2: Ch 2 (consider this as a dc), 11 dc into center loop, close round by slip stitching into the top of the beginning ch2. Cut yarn and change color.

Steps 3 + 4: Join new color yarn into top of any dc from below circle. Ch 2, 1dc into same space, ch1, *2dc into each dc of the previous round, ch1*, close round by slip stitching into the top of the beginning ch2. Cut yarn and change color.

The Ch2 will create the corner

Steps 5 + 6: Join new yarn into any ch1 space below. Ch2, 1dc into same ch1 space as join, ch 2, 2 dc into same space, ch1 (this makes the first corner of our hexagon) 2dc into ch1 space below, ch1. Then repeat 5 times *2dc, ch2, 2dc into next ch1 space below, ch1, (2dc, ch1) into next ch 1 space below*- close round by slip stitching into the top of the beginning ch2

Step 7 + 8: Ch2, 1dc into ch2 space below, ch 2, 2 dc into same space, ch1 (this makes the first corner of our hexagon) *(2dc into ch1 space below, ch1)* twice. Then repeat 5 times *2dc, ch2, 2dc into next ch1 space below, ch1, (2dc, ch1) into next ch 1 space below, (2dc, ch1) into next ch 1 space below*- close round by slip stitching into the top of the beginning ch2

My finished Crochet Hexagon:

I love how perfect this Crochet Hexagon turned out! I can see myself making a bunch of these easily! I’ve used a soft cotton yarn here so these would make easy scrubbies too.
