Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a cable knit lumbar pillow cover pattern that adds beautiful texture and style to your sofa or bed. While the design looks intricate, the pattern itself is quite simple, those stunning cables really do all the work.
If you’re new to cables, be sure to start with a beginner-friendly guide on how to knit cables before diving in.

What you will need:
- Two skeins Wool-Ease Thick and Quick yarn, in fisherman colorway.
- Size 11- 9mm circular needles or straight needles large enough to accommodate stitches
- Cable needle
- Felt cut to measure 14.5 by 28.5 inches
- Fairfield Poly-Fil Lumbar Pillow form measuring 14 by 28 inches.

This cable knit lumbar pillow cover pattern creates a pillow front that measures 14 by 28 inches and has 6 cables.
I have simplified this pattern by making the areas between the cables as garter stitches instead of the reverse stockinette stitch typically used. So this means that on the right side, we only knit, there is no need to purl.
This cable knit lumbar pillow uses a 2 cable widths a C3 and C4.
