What You’ll Need:

• I’ve used a few different colors of Wool Ease Thick and Quick Yarn.
• A size N crochet hook
• A button and matching yarn for the loop closure.
• Scissors.

With this free pattern you’ll make two rectangular panels (front & back), assemble them together, and add a button loop closure. It’s simple enough for a confident beginner and quick enough for a weekend project.

I kept the back panel a solid color and turned the front panel into a cheerful rainbow stripes by switching colors every two rows. Feel free to customize the colors however you like: solid back, multi-stripe front, contrasting join color.

If you’re new to crochet or just need a quick refresher, this pattern uses only crochet basic stitches: the chain (ch), and the single crochet (sc). 1. Make the Front and Back Panels

• For the back panel, chain 26. Work the moss stitch for 26 rows in a single color.
  The result is a sturdy, cushiony rectangle that forms the back of your case. I have used this moss stitch in this Moss Stitch Crochet Scarf
• For the front panel, chain 26. Work the moss stitch for 26 rows, changing colors every two rows for that fun striped look. You can use yarn scraps, a coordinated palette, or full rainbow stripe!

2. Assemble Your Crochet Tablet Holder

• Lay the front and back panels together with the right sides facing out.
• Using a contrasting yarn, single crochet around three sides (left, bottom, right)
• Leave the top open to slide the tablet in and out.

I used a bright pink yarn for joining because it made the edges pop.

3. Add the Button Loop

• On the top back edge, attach your yarn with a slip stitch.
• Chain about 20 (adjust depending on the size of your button).
• Slip stitch back into the starting spot to form a loop.
• Sew the button onto the front panel so the loop fits snugly around it.

And just like that—your crochet tablet holder stays securely closed!

The finished crochet tablet cover measures about 9″ × 10″, which fits most 10.9″ and 11″ tablets or ipads comfortably.
