How to Crochet Moss Stitch in the Round
Here are the step by step instructions with tutorial videos of how to crochet moss stitch in the round.
There is no starting chain requirement to crochet moss stitch in the round. Instead you start with a magic circle or ch 4, join with a slip stitch to the first chain to form a small loop.
Round 1: ch1, *(sc, ch2) into the center loop 4 times. Join with a sl st to the first sc to complete round.
NOTE: The ch2 spaces will become the four corners of your square.

Round 2: Slip stitch into the nearest ch2 corner space, *(sc, ch2, sc) into that ch2 space, ch1* repeat 4 times. Join with a sl st to the first sc.

Round 3: Slip stitch into the nearest ch2 corner space, *(sc, ch2, sc) into that ch2 space, ch1, make an sc into ch1 space, ch1* repeat 4 times. Join with a sl st to the first sc.

Round 4: Repeat Round: Continue repeating the same pattern: Into each corner create *(sc, ch2, sc) ch1 * and along each side of the square work, into each ch1 space make a sc, ch1.
As your square grows, you will simply have more moss stitches between each corner.

Moss Stitch in the Round vs. Moss Stitch in Rows
Crochet moss stitch flat is worked back and forth in rows. For each row, you work sc, ch1 in the ch sp of previous row. When you crochet moss stitch in the round, we are still using that stitch, but we add in a new corner formula (sc, ch2, sc)
