Thank You Card…

October 1, 2010

Today, I made a card for the Paper Crafts Magazine’s Facebook giveaway. I am no card maker, but I do try!!

The photograph is not the best… Its a gloomy rainy day out here :(

Todays challenge was to make a thank you card using yellow or orange color. I made a Hybrid card today– it starts as a digital card, and then I print it out and jazz it up a little bit.

Let  me walk you through the steps.

First I made a digital card using Adobe Photoshop Cs5. I made it to measure 5.5 by 5.5 inches.

All papers and embellishments used here are by Jessica Sprague. Aren’t these papers adorable?

I then created the title. I have used Futura fonts here.

I then printed these onto a 8.5 by 11 inch white cardstock. I placed the card at the top of the page, so that I would have enough room on the cardstock to create the 5.5 by 5.5 inch card. Placed the title on the side, in the wasted space. Make sure your file is at 300 dpi before you print!! Otherwise you will end up with a tiny sized card and not the true size.

After printing, I cut out the card area, and folded it to create the card. I then cut around the title leaving an 1/8inch white border.

I then used some paper edgers and some paper scraps ( from my new paper pad– My mind’s eye ) and adhered them onto the card. Finally added the title.
