To make these Stuffed Felt Hearts I’ve used: Heart die | Delicate heart die | Nuvo drops
DIY Felt Ornaments
Step 1: Cut Your Felt Hearts
Cut two hearts per ornament. I used bright pinks, oranges, and reds, they look so happy together!
Using a die cutting machine makes this project super quick, but you can just as easily trace a heart shape and cut felt by hand. Perfect for using up felt scraps in your favorite colors

Using a cream or any other neutral colored felt, die-cut these delicate hearts. This is an optional step, but that delicate heart looks so pretty and adds such a wow factor!

Step 2: Sew Around the Edges
Place two hearts together, pin or clip them, and start stitching about ¼ inch from the edge. Use a sewing machine for quick, neat stitches, or hand sew using a running stitch or blanket stitch for a more homemade look.
Leave a small opening (about an inch) at the bottom so you can add the stuffing.

Step 3: Stuff and Finish
Add a small amount of stuffing to your heart, you just want it plump, not overfilled. Once stuffed, sew the opening closed.
If you’d like, add a loop of ribbon at the top before sewing it shut so you can hang your heart as an ornament or gift tag.
Step 4: Add Embellishments (Optional)
You can decorate your DIY felt ornaments in any way you want- with hand embroidery, sequins, or paint. I love adding tiny details in contrasting thread colors for extra charm.

For a fun mixed-media idea, try pairing this project with my heart flower painting.
