Supplies I’ve used here:

This is a great yarn scrap project, there is no need for you to buy more yarn 😉

For my flowers, I’ve used all Lily Sugar ‘N Cream yarn in colors White, Red, and Dazzle Blue. Makes a great summer patriotic color scheme! The crochet hook is a 5.0mm size from this set of Bamboo Crochet Hooks.

Crochet Flowers Tutorial Notes:

how to crochet a flower
  • To make larger leaves- increase your foundation chain. Instead of Chain 8 you can up to 14 but always start with an even number of chains. If you added 2 extra chains, make 2 extra trebles in the pattern- so instead of the 1 tr, you will do 3tr. Similarly, if you added 4 extra chains, you will make 5tr and so on.
  • For my Crochet flowers Tutorial today I’ve purposely used cotton yarn. I plan to add these to my kids’ T-shirts or flip flops and in summer if they get wet, I feel the cotton is a better option.

Abbreviations used (US):

ch= chain, sc= single crochet, hdc= half double crochet, dc= double crochet, tr= treble or triple crochet.
