CROCHET MOSS STITCH SCARF PATTERN:

The Crochet Moss Stitch requires you to start with an even-number of chains

Row 2: Ch 2, sc in the next ch-1 sp, *ch 1, sc in the next ch-1 sp; repeat from * to end, finishing with an sc in the ch-3 sp at the start of Row 1, turn.
Row 3: Ch 2, sc in the next ch-1 sp, *ch 1, sc in the next ch-1 sp; repeat from * to end, finishing with an sc in the ch-2 sp at the start of the previous row, turn.
Repeat Row 3 until you have a scarf that is long enough
This Crochet Moss stitch scarf was such a joy to work on. Since the yarn was super bulky it creates this beautiful texture that is great to look at. And I loved the simple joy of a repeat stitch pattern on this scarf.
My finished scarf measured approximately 4.5 inches wide and about 80+ inches long.

if you want a wider scarf:
To make a wider 6-inch scarf, start with a Chain 14 instead of 12. You might then need more than 2 skiens of yarn to complete a long scarf.
SUPPLIES USED:

- YARN: I used 2 skeins of Wool Ease Thick and Quick. I chose a variegated yarn and the one I used is called Astroland. This is a super bulky and great for beginners!
- CROCHET HOOK: I used a 10mm size N crochet hook for my scarf, even though the yarn label called for a 9mm. I felt the crochet swatch was better with a size up hook. The Bamboo hooks I have come from this inexpensive set I got online. And, I was able to easily carry this hook on a plane– TSA approved.
What Can you Make using moss stitch crochet?
The Crochet Moss Stitch is a simple stitch that creates a great fabric that has no holes in it. It is great to make quick scarves and beautiful handmade blankets! I used the yarn leftover from this scarf in this Crochet Head Band Pattern. This stitch would look beautiful with thinner yarns as well, and I used it in my Temperature Blanket.
