Thankful Tree Activity:
My daughters and I started a Thankful Tree this year. We cut out a tree bark with some construction paper. I printed out the I am thankful for printable pdf onto printer paper. Using a sharp pair of scissors, I cut out the leaf shapes and prepped a stack of them.
Every evening, we write down something we are thankful for onto a leaf and adhere it to the wall. I use a tiny piece of this artists masking tape to affix it onto the wall without damaging it. This tape is low tack and great for this craft.
This is a super simple craft, all you need is paper, printer and a bit of wall space but the effect is deeply rewarding and connects everyday life with introspection. Watching the Thankful tree grow each day brings a smile to my face.
Gratitude Family Banner:
You can print out and cut the banner shapes included in the printable. Add a string along your mantle to build the banner on. Then hand out a banner shape to each member in the gathering and have them write down what they are thankful for. Each person can then attach the banner pennant to the string to construct you thankful banner. For adults, these grateful worksheets are a great option as well, and are easy to print at home.
